Tips: How do the experts recommend you cook fresh pasta?
We want you to have the best experience with our pasta. We recognize that cooking fresh pasta is slightly different which is why we put together some tips that will help you create that pasta dish you love.
1. Use a large pot
Because your pasta will expand while cooking, you need to make sure it has plenty of water in which to "swim". This is why we recommend a large pot - to offer lots of space. This also helps keep your pasta from sticking.
2. Fresh pasta will cook more quickly
It's important to watch your time. Cook time will depend on the thickness of the noodle and your preferred doneness. Generally, fresh pasta should take somewhere between 90 seconds and 4 minutes. If you're eating mushy pasta, you've cooked it too long.
3. Testing your noodles
The best way to see if your noodles are done is to simply remove a noodle with tongs or a fork and take a bite. Pasta is best when cooked al dente (tender but firm to the bite).
4. Don't rinse your noodles
When you rinse your pasta, you're also washing off the starch. The starch allows your sauce to stick to your noodles so keep it on there. It will serve better that way.
